Some of the missionaries in our complex. There are 6 couples in our stairwell who are responsible for Public Affairs, Perpetual Education Fund, Employment, Office Couple, Humanitarian, and Ward support/English/keyboard instruction. They are incredibly dedicated to theLord, to their spouses, and to their callings. The strong social and spiritual connection is one of the high points of the mission. 
On our trip to Western Kenya we were able to stay overnight at the Kakamega Forest, a small segment of the primevil forest that used to cover much of Western Africa. The trees of Kenya have been devastated...by the planting of coffee and tea by the colonial British, and today by the people for fuel. Gorillas used to wander in the mists of these Kenya forests, but have been long since extinct here. We started our hike at 6AM and climbed to a view point where we could see the sun rise over the mountains and forest.

This country is indeed rich in beauty of land, animals and people.
