Primary school children either love or hate to have their pictures taken. Some run away screaming (probably at the ghostly looking white people). Others crowd around to get into the picture. The children love to sing, and we sang to each other. Their songs are about Jesus Christ. So they sang to me, then I sang "I Am a Child of God" to them. They sang another song to me, then I sang "Popcorn Popping on the Apricot Tree." Notice the pink and green school uniforms.
John is standing next to Benard, President of the Migori Christian Disabled Group. Next to Benard is the Chairman of the Group. We went to Migori with 50 blankets to help the disabled victims of flooding that destroyed many homes. Theyhad a ceremony attended by the members who were willing to wait for us to come. We had estimated that we would be there by 1:00, but didn't arrive till 4:00 because we overestimated the quality of the roads. They presented us with gifts (John with the straw hat, and me with a straw bag), and of course with a list of the many more things they needed from us. Most people grow small shambas (gardens), as you can see from the maize (corn) in the background.
